바로 송산 3·1운동 기념공원입니다.

화성에서 처음 울려 퍼진 만세의 함성
1919년 3월,
송산 사강시장 일대에서는 대규모 만세운동이 일어났습니다.
수많은 주민과 상인, 농민들이 태극기를 들고 거리로 나왔고,
일제의 탄압 속에서도 독립을 외쳤습니다.
특히 송산 지역의 만세운동은
화성 지역 독립운동의 시작점 가운데 하나로 기록됩니다.

공원 안에는 당시의 이야기를 담은 기념비와 설명판,
그리고 독립운동가들을 기리는 기념탑이 세워져 있습니다.

The First Independence Movement in Hwaseong
During the March 1st Movement in 1919,
the people of Songsan gathered around the Sagang Market and shouted for Korea’s independence.
Farmers, merchants, and ordinary citizens stood together despite violent suppression.
Today, the park preserves that memory through monuments, historical displays, and memorial sculptures.
Silence Beneath the Pine Trees
What impressed me most was the silence.
The pine trees, sunlight, waving Korean flags, and peaceful walking paths made the place feel calm and reflective.
Rather than loudly explaining history,
this park quietly allows visitors to feel it.
Walking toward the memorial tower felt like walking between the past and the present.
